As we prepare to comply with California’s new Phone-Free School Act, we’re asking: What are the most important considerations when developing a policy to limit or prohibit smartphone use during the school day?
Here are some top thoughts shared so far:
⭐ Help foster more face-to-face interactions and reduce reliance on the internet for answers.
⭐ Teachers should not expect students to use smartphones for classwork (e.g., scanning QR codes).
⭐ Schools need a superior communication system for notifying families quickly in emergencies.
The Exchange is open until October 10 at 11:59 PM (PT).
